Workshop: Introduction to Pluralism of Economic Thought
This workshop will introduce you to the theories which may have been mentioned in a seminar or lecture but have been left for you to explore alone. It is also for those who perceive Economics to be too mathy, dry, and for people in suits.
Economics is indisputably dominated by one school of thought. Those who have taken an Economics module or degree may be aware of other traditions within the field, however they are rarely treated formally. One thing is certain, never are these theories given the time and weight necessary to provide students with a broader and deeper understanding of just how pluralistic Economics is. This workshop tries to fill that gap. We believe that pluralism in economics will not only strengthen the field of academia but have beneficial implications for the way our societies are structured.
The workshop will be led by Lillian Fischer – co-editor of Rethinking Economics: An Introduction to Pluralist Economics.
