DEADLINE 9AM 29/11/2021
This is your chance to join an amazing team that works to reform Economics education around the world. We are excited to launch our search for our next Senior Operations Manager.
About Rethinking Economics
Rethinking Economics (RE) is an international network working to build a better Economics in society and the classroom. We started as a student movement in 2012 and have since grown to become a registered charity with a 10-person staff team. Through a mixture of campaigning, events and projects, we support over 100 groups in over 30 countries around the world, alongside thousands of supportive members of the public, to reform the university Economics curriculum to make it more pluralist, critical and applicable to the real world.
Rethinking Economics is undertaking an exciting transition process in which we are developing and expanding the future of the organisation.
Over the next year we will be implementing an anti-oppression strategy and developing our project management systems. We hope to grow our staff team and in particular grow our work internationally.
What we’re looking for
Effective operations are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for an experienced professional who can take the lead on implementing our anti-oppression strategy and its recommendations, while also working with the team to best identify how we should work together efficiently, safely and effectively. You will have a good understanding of UK HR, employment and recruitment law and good practice. You will have experience of monitoring evaluation and project and organisational management for small organisations. This is a new role and the successful candidate will have a real opportunity to make their mark on the HR function of Rethinking Economics. Your skills will support a small organisation to continually develop and grow – a keenness to thrive in a fast-paced changing environment is essential.
Diversity, Equality & Inclusion
We are committed to providing equality and fairness for all and not to discriminate on grounds of gender, marital status, racialised identity, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, mental health, religion or age. We encourage and celebrate the different qualities that our colleagues, and others we work with, bring to our work. And we believe that seeing things from a wide range of different perspectives helps us to resolve problems, adapt our approaches and develop as an organisation. We want to bring greater diversity to our team and we’re keen to hear what you think you’ll bring from your own background and experience (beyond your professional skills and knowledge).
