JOIN STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO CAMPAIGN FOR CHANGE
Rethinking Economics is built on its network of local groups from around the world. Student members work together to enact change at their universities and institutions. Local campaigners fight to reform economics curricula, decolonise departments, and bring important issues like climate change into economics education. Student groups do this by raising awareness with the student population, running events, and bringing their collective calls for change to their departments.
The best way to get involved with Rethinking Economics is by joining your local group, or if there isn’t one where you study, starting a group yourself! If you’re a student studying economics, social sciences, or any related course – register your interest in supporting the Rethinking Economics movement and we’ll be in touch with all the ways you can get involved locally and with our international campaigns.
Rethinking Economics is like a tool to gather people and help them work together to understand how we can be part of solving our economic challenges.João | Rethinking Economics Alumnus

Translate our resources
Rethinking Economics is a global network with many different languages in use. To make our resources and training most effective, we rely on our network volunteers to help translate and localize our resources. If you have strong language skills and the ability to translate from English into other languages, we’d love to hear from you!
If you’re interested to participate, fill in the Translate RE Resources form.
Economists For Future
Through targeted research and advocacy, The Economists For Future initiative is aiming to mobilise economists, and the influence they have, to help arrest the planetary emergency.
Rethinking Accountancy is part of the Rethinking Economics Network campaigning to transform the accountancy education and profession. We seek to give rise to critical professionals that sufficiently address the world’s current and future challenges of socioeconomic inequality and climate injustice, fostering sustainable futures.
NOT A STUDENT?
Support as an academic or member of the public
If you’re an academic, work for an economics institution or in a related field, we encourage you to be an ally to the amazing students who are trying to improve their education. Let your students know about the Rethinking Economics network – a mention in a lecture is how many existing local groups got started! Whoever you are and however you’re interested to get involved, let us know about it by signing up as a supporter.
Rethinkers are working hard to promote a pluralist economics education and public debate through engaging campaigns and student led initiatives. But to stay in the fight, Rethinking Economics needs your support!
